Suspect H5N1 Clusters in Menoufia Egypt Grow

Recombinomics Commentary 13:40
January 1, 2008

In Menoufiya detained hospitals pathogenesis Mnov and Shebin Mound and Martyrs [3 different hospitals]: Adel Mohammed Adel, from Srs Allian and daughter prayer, housewives, Mohammed Saeed Abdel Rahman, 18, from the village of Braheem, Mohammed Fawzi Karim Nada, from the village of Kafr Sheikh Khalil in Shebin Mound, benign Abdalhviz Rizq, 23, from a village in Abokls martyrs, and sampling them for analysis.

The above translation describes additional suspect patients in Menoufiya (see satellite map).  The cases are in addition to the five suspect cases described earlier, as well as the two confirmed cases (22F, 26F).

In addition to the geographic clustering in the governorate, two suspect cases are from Sheebin Mound, while a suspect (18F) and confirmed case (22F) are from Barheem.

This clustering of confirmed and suspect cases is cause for concern.

More detail on the suspect cases would be useful.
