![]() Transfer of Two Suspect H5N1 Patients to Cairo Recombinomics Commentary 15:51 January 13, 2008 For his. Abdul Ati and Health Administration agent able to salt Hospital received two cows [Banha] from the village of Kafr Attallah Centre cows [Banha] on suspicion of injured bird flu case was transferred because of their seriousness to the hospital salt [Fevers] Abbasid . The above translation describes the transfer of two serious suspect H5N1 cases to the Abbassia Fever Hospital in Cairo. The number of suspect bird flu cases hospitalized in Egypt has been high (see satellite map here and here). Although there have been no confirmed cases since the beginning of this year, two patients have died with bird flu symptoms. Although those two cases were reported as testing negative, the large number of patients hospitalized raised concerns that some were generating false negatives, in part due to early admission, coupled with treatment with Tamiflu. One indication of H5N1 infections is transfer of serious cases to Cairo, as described above for two patients transferred from the Banha hospital in Qalyubiyah. Earlier a health care worker from the same hospital was hospitalized. More detail on these transfers, including any relationship to each other, would be useful.
