Reports First Pediatric
Flu
Death The department says the total is highest number of flu-related deaths in a single season the state has recorded since 1997. The above comments describe the first pediatric flu death in New Hampshire and not that the number of cases increased to 35 from 30 last week, setting a new record for cases since 1997. Although the CDC has reported 37 pediatric deaths this season, the national tally is significantly delayed. There are reports of at least 18 additional pediatric deaths as listed below. The record number of deaths in New Hampshire suggests that the P&I Death Rate for week 4 will top the 9.8% reported for week 3.
