Flu Deaths In Week 5 FluView The 14 deaths reported in week 5 is the highest to date in this season (see list below), but there are at least 11 additional deaths which have been reported in media and state lab reports. In the 2007-08 season there were 88 pediatric deaths, which is the highest since 2003-04, other than the seasons strongly impacted by the 2009 pandemic (2009-11). In 2003-04 as well as 2007-08, the dominant sero-type was H3N2, which is also true for this season. The list below increases the number of deaths this season to 70, and the intensity in the western states is rising, so the above number will increase significantly this season.
