Another H5N1 Outbreak in Ukraine Recombinomics Commentary 14:50 February 8, 2008 In the village Kirovski Black Sea region of Crimea in the private courtyard case detected in poultry. The above translation describes another H5N1 outbreak on the Ukraine peninsula (see satellite map). This report follows an earlier outbreak in the Ukraine, as well as multiple outbreaks on the Black Sea shores of Turkey. These multiple reports signal increased activity in areas frequented by wild birds, but the outbreaks are being reported on farms, once again signaling shortfalls in wild bird surveillance in the region.
