The above translation on the hospitalization of the H5N1 confirmed seven year old in Gia Loc, which is the location of the confirmed fatal infection of the 40F, generates a geographic cluster (see satellite map) covering a smaller area that Hai Duang province.
The timing of the two infections, coupled with the sharing of the dead poultry with a relative, increases the likelihood that there is a close relationship between the two victims, WHO update notwithstanding.
This close geographical, link between these two confirmed patients, coupled with the several hospitalized suspect patients, suggest this cluster may be significantly greater than two.
