H5N1 in Turkey Near Border With Greece Recombinomics Commentary 17:11 March 14, 2008 Turkey has filed an OIE report on another H5N1 outbreak near Esetece close to the border with Greece (see satellite map). The multiple H5N1 outbreaks on or near the Black Sea coast, raise questions about the lack of reports from neighboring countries. Based on sequence data from H5N1 in Romania and the Crimea Peninsula, it is likely that the H5N1 will be clade 2.2.3 and close related to the Uvs Lake strain.
