Commentary Fujian H5N2 In Le Sueur County Minnesota
Expected Cottonwood County in the State of Minnesota on or after March 19, 2015 are ineligible for export.· Lyon County in the State of Minnesota on or after March 19, 2015 are ineligible for export.· Watonwan County in the State of Minnesota on or after March 19, 2015 are ineligible for export.· Le Sueur County in the State of Minnesota on or after March 21, 2015 are ineligible for export.* The above comments indicate Fujian H5 clade 2.3.4.4 has been confirmed in Le Sueur County, Minnesota (see H5N2 map) on April 11, two days after confirmation of H5N2 in Watonwood, Lyon, and Cottonwood counties, which was on April 11. The above bans have been announced by Turks & Caicos Island, Ecuador, and Peru, which also predicted APHIS confirmation announcements the three April 11 counties cited above, The bans only predict announcements in new counties. On April 9 the 4th confirmation in Stearns County was announced. Thus, the next APHIS announcement on Minnesota may include multiple farms located in confirmed counties. APHIS announcements have been lagging, and Canada announced a ban of Wisconsin poultry due to confirmation of H5N2 in a chicken farm in Jefferson County. Increasing migration in northern US states as well as Canada suggests many more confirmations will be announced in the near term. Recombinomics
