H7N9 Spread To Hunan Province
Recombinomics Commentary 13:30
April 27, 2013

Hunan Province first case of human infection of H7N9 avian influenza patients were female, 64 years old, the Shaoyang City dual-zone, four days before the onset of a history of contact with poultry;

The above translation describes the first confirmed case (64F) who was infected in Hunan Province.  Earlier a case (2M) was confirmed in Hunan Province one day after arrival from Shanghai, the suspect origin of the infection (see map).  The was also a fatal influenza case in Hunan who was described as H7N9 or H1N1v, neither of which had been reported previously in Hunan.

The above case was from Shaoyang (see map), which is located further west than any prior H7N9 case (see map), and represents addition spread.  However Jiangxi is adjacent to Hunan, and new cases have been reported in each of the past three days (see map), signaling frequent infections in the area, in contrast to the Fujian Province case reported yesterday, which signals spread to the south and is the only Fujian confirmed cases reported to date (see map).

More H7N9 bird flu cases in these provinces is expected.
