CDC Releases Sequences From Iowa trH3N2 Cluster
Recombinomics Commentary 15:20
November 23, 2011

The CDC has released a full set of sequences (at GISAID) for the three confirmed trH3N2 cases (3F, A/Iowa/07/2011; 1M, A/Iowa/08/2011; 2M, A/Iowa/09/2011).  All were direct sequences of the clinical samples collected on November 14, 2011.  The CDC is to be commended for the rapid release of these important sequences.

The constellation and lineages matches the prior seven 2011 trH3N2 sets of sequences and are closely related to the recently released sequences from the New York swine, A/swine/NY/A01104005/2011, supporting the recent jump from humans to swine.
