The appearance of H5N1 in Northern and Southern provinces of Vietnam is yet another signal that flu season has begun. Sequences of the new isolates would useful to see what new recombinations have been generated for the new season. Comparison of the sequences in the north to the new human case in the south would also be of interest.
A new season brings new sequences and new challenges.
